Brand new homes are great but did you know that the dust from the construction process lingers for weeks, even months after the home is completed? In order to remove the dust from the air in your brand new home, be sure to change the air filters once every two weeks for the first four months. You’ll see the filters are gradually catching less and less dust the more you change them. Dust is everywhere and although you cannot completely eliminate it, changing your filters will help eliminate the bulk of the excess, ensuring a cleaner, fresher home. Allergen air filters work best at removing particulates but they are more expensive. Once the dust level has diminished, go back to using standard air filters.
